Kazia and Keagan entered some art work into the Christmas Lamb Art Contest at the Springville Art Museum. They both made it into the show! Way to go, girls! Here are some pictures of their work. Kazia did the white Nativity and Keagan did the "New Star" ceramic piece.

It came!
The painting of my bottles arrived! While writing this blog post my daughter was looking over my shoulder. I started to write, "I am trilled with how the painting turned out..." and my daughter said I was writing too formally. So here you go...here is how I really feel about this painting. Christopher Thornock's paintings totally rock!!! I can't believe my bottles have been captured in one of his paintings. I'm always a little sad to part with a piece of pottery I've created. They almost become one of my children. Ask my family, I often refer to them as my "babies." This pottery exchange is a little different in that I got my "babies" back in the form of a beautiful painting. Thank you, Chris! I can't wait to get this awesome painting framed!!! (Scroll down to see a photo of the bottles before I sent them off.)

This is a little tea set I made for my daughter Kazia. It is still in the "greenware" stage, which means that it still needs to be bique fired, glazed, and refired. I used some underglaze to paint the poppies on it. Shhhh...it's a surprise for Christmas!
Here are 2 out of 3 nesting bowls I'm making for myself. I keep giving the ones away that I mean to have for myself. We'll see how long these stay in my cupboard. The third and largest nesting bowl isn't dry enough to trim. I'll post pictures when they're all done!
I'm on a mug-making kick. I've got six more that need handles, and I'm planning on making more. It must be hot chocolate season!
Chip and dip tray. These are so fun to make.

I'm resurrecting this blog!!!

A few months ago I was contacted by an artist named Christopher Thornock that is also from Utah. He's a painter, and was interested in doing a "trade." He wants to used my pottery in his still life paintings. After checking out his website, I was very excited to get this trade going. He does beautiful work!!! I agreed to do 3 bottles for him (pictured above). In return, he is going to do a painting of the bottles for me. I will post pictures of the painting as soon as I have them.
